Freenow, a dedicated mobility application, has produced a ranking of European cities whose centre is furthest from the airport.
In addition to tracking distances, Freenow has also calculated the average time taken to reach the city centre and the relative cost of the taxi ride, so that it is possible to see which destinations are the most convenient in terms of the distance-time-to-trip-cost ratio.

Paris
Charles De Gaulle Airport is the French capital's main airport for international flights. Its distance from the centre is 35 kilometres, which can be covered in about half an hour by taxi, at a cost of EUR 55 (fixed rate).
Athens
Athens Airport is located outside the borders of the Greek capital, about 33 kilometres from the centre. To reach the most interesting parts of the city, it takes EUR 40 (fixed fare) for about 40 minutes of travel time.
Rome
Rome Fiumicino airport charges a fixed rate to get to the centre by taxi: 50 euros. The distance is quite large: 29 kilometres, with a journey time of about 47 minutes.
Berlin
Berlin Airport is 26 kilometres away from the city centre and a taxi ride would cost an average of EUR 65, with a journey time of about 50 minutes.
London
London is very large and is therefore served by no less than 6 airports. Freenow took Heatrow airport as a reference, as it is the main airport for international flights and with more than 75 million passengers a year it is the busiest airport in Europe. Reaching the centre is not particularly convenient in economic terms: the average cost by taxi is 99 euros (fixed rate), for a distance of 26 kilometres and a journey time of 45 to 60 minutes.
Madrid
The centre of the Spanish capital is 23 kilometres from its airport, but the taxi fare is cheap: about 30 euros for half an hour's drive.
Vienna
20 kilometres separate Vienna from its airport: the fixed price for travelling from one destination to the other is 41 euros, with a journey time of about half an hour.
Dublin
The centre of the Irish capital is 10 kilometres from the airport, a journey time of about 30 minutes: the average cost for a taxi ride is EUR 35.
Warsaw
In terms of prices, Warsaw is unrivalled. It is located within the capital's borders, 10 kilometres from the city's main attractions and the cost of a taxi ride is often less than EUR 10.
