Legendary and mythical places to search the world

There are so many places shrouded in mystery that history tells us about, vanished without a trace except in the collective imagination, that no one has ever seen or found: cities that really existed and now have disappeared, fantastic kingdoms whose gates are speculated to be somewhere in the real world, or places that are the product of man's imagination.

Over the centuries many have set out in search of them returning defeated. What about you-what are you waiting for?

Thinis, Egypt
Mentioned in the Book of the Dead and by Manetho, possibly the capital before Memphis or the religious center of the cult of Osiris, there are no surfaced traces of this ancient Egyptian city today. Presumably near present-day Girga, it has not yet been found and nothing attests to its actual existence.

Scholomance, Romania
Distortion from the Romanian Solomanari, born from the pen of Gerard, is a mythical school of black magic: the devil the teacher. After finishing the course of study, only one pupil becomes the teacher's assistant, living with a dragon in a deep lake and preparing lightning bolts. It is thought to be located among Carpazi, near Hermanstadt, constantly affected by storms.

A hidden civilization in the heart of Asia for Tibetans and Hindus (Shambhala), in the West it is believed to be a legendary underground city in the heart of the Earth, radiating from a smoky central Sun and whose access would be Antarctica.

Helike, Greece
A city possibly really existed but not yet resurfaced from the past. Destroyed in 373 BC, some claim it sank in the ocean like Atlantis, others that it sank in an inland lagoon with an earthquake.

Camelot, England
Of certain fictional place related to the legendary King Arthur, there have always been questions about its existence and possible location (Glastonbury, Winchester or Colchester) but whether it existed or not, his court and stories of ladies and knights have always fascinated romantics.

Caesars City, South America
Founded by Spanish castaways or descendants Incas, it is a legendary city hidden among the Andes, rich in gold and diamonds. Perhaps conjured by glittering, floating ice, nothing today proves its existence.
