PortAventura World, Salou (Spain)
Situated south of Barcelona, in Salou, in the province of Tarragona, PortAventura World is divided into three thematic areas: PortAventura Park (a real amusement park), PortAventura Caribe Aquatic Park (a Caribbean-themed water park) and finally Ferrari Land, the first park dedicated to the Ferrari car manufacturer in Europe, which has 13 attractions: the most important is Red Force, Europe's highest and fastest rollercoaster, with 112 metres in height and an acceleration of 180 km/h in 5 seconds.

Gardaland, Castelnuovo del Garda and Lazise (Italy)
Although not directly overlooking Lake Garda, Gardaland is adjacent to it and is crossed by the natural stream Dugale, a tributary of the lake. One of the park's most beautiful attractions is 'Escape from Atlantis', an example of a super splash that occupies an area of 10,000 square metres.

Liseberg, Göteborg (Sweden)
Opened in 1923, Liseberg attracts around three million visitors each year and among the main attractions is the wooden roller coaster Balder, twice voted the 'world's best wooden track roller coaster'. In addition, this park is also open on Halloween and in November and December, hosting a wonderful Christmas market.

Walt Disney Studios Park is Disney's second amusement park built in the Disneyland Paris complex and, as you might guess, is entirely dedicated to the world of cinema and in particular to the Disney, Pixar and Marvel universe. Visiting this park will allow you to discover the incredible backstage of the most famous animated films in the Disney world.

Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen (Denmark)
Opened on 15 August 1843, this is the second oldest amusement park that has survived intact to this day, after Dyrehavsbakken, also in Denmark. The general appearance of the gardens has been preserved and at the entrance is the famous Pantomime Theatre, an original Chinese-style building, where the audience stands outdoors, while the stage is inside the building.

Europa-Park, Rust (Germany)
Europa-Park is Germany's largest amusement park and covers an area of 710,000 square metres. It is home to more than 100 mechanical, themed and water attractions, divided into 19 large themed areas representing European nations. Europa-Park's main attractions are its roller coasters, some of which are easily recognisable in the park's skyline.

Efteling, Kaatsheuvel (Netherlands)
Efteling was originally intended to be an exclusive attraction for children in a fairytale setting. Today, however, it has evolved into a large theme park that is a true wonderland, where attractions are based on tales, legends and fairy tales from the Dutch tradition.

Alton Towers, Alton (United Kingdom)
Built between Birmingham and Manchester, Alton Towers is the UK's principal amusement park and is home to six roller coasters, including an aquatic area. The facility is located within the grounds of a Gothic castle that was a country residence in the 1860s.
