The Ruyi Bridge
One of the most famous attractions in the area is the Ruyi Bridge, a glass-bottomed structure spanning a canyon in the scenic area of Shenxianju, Xianju County, eastern Zhejiang Province.
A one-of-a-kind design
This bridge consists of undulating decks and part of the floor is even made of glass. The shape and name of the structure are inspired by a rubi, a kind of traditional ornamental sceptre in Chinese culture, and this object most often symbolises good luck and power.
200,000 visitors in 2020 alone
Figures speak of as many as 200,000 visitors between September and November 2020 alone, the first months after its inauguration. This construction was in fact designed by He Yunchang, an expert in steel structures who also participated in the design of China's main stadium for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
A beautiful view in fog and sunshine
People who have visited and crossed this bridge speak of incredible sensations. The weather conditions can vary greatly depending on the months of the year: with the sun, one enjoys a resoundingly beautiful view, similar to the one created by James Cameron in Avatar. With fog, the landscape takes on a truly mystical hue, making one really feel that one is in the Far East.
Much more in the Shenxianju Scenic Area
Of course, it is not just the bridge, but many other attractions and scenic spots fill this location. One only has to look at this photo to understand the life and beauty of this region. Pictured here is a breathtaking slacklining competition held at the Shenxianju scenic spot. More than 30 slacklining masters from around the world demonstrated their spins and bounces amidst the clouds. The 18-year-old Canadian contestant Antony won the title of champion.
Mountains, waterfalls and rivers surround the area
The area has a large number of naturally formed waterfalls and deep pools. The mountains in the area are quite unique in that they stand separate and steep-sided, as if torn apart by a giant axe. There are more than 80 scenic sites in the mountains, including Tadpole Rock, General Rock, Sleeping Beauty Mountain, Guanyin Mountain, South Bridge and many more.
CIna's most beautiful scenic spots
Practically every metre travelled there is a breathtaking viewpoint. Each area of the region is in itself a gigantic viewpoint, from which one can admire the immensity of the panorama. This photo shows one of the viewpoints on the aforementioned Ruyi Bridge.
When to visit the Shenxianju Scenic Area
The best time to visit the Shenxianju scenic area is June-August, as the flow of the falls is greater and visitors can have an unforgettable impression. On the other hand, it is also interesting to go there in winter, as the frozen waterfalls look like glittering jade hanging from the mountains.

Vatican City, officially the Vatican City State, is a landlocked city-state on the Italian peninsula, the world's smallest sovereign state by population (869 according to a 2019 census).
The Vatican is what remains of the ancient Papal State, a portion of Italian territory over which, for centuries, the authority of the Pope reigned supreme. The real problems began with the birth of the Kingdom of Italy and the Pontiff's loss of temporal power. Today, only a tiny part of the State that once was remains.
Always a place of intrigue and mysteries but also a place of preservation of a great deal of Christian art, Vatican City still remains one of the most visited places in the world, and not only by Catholics or Christians, but tourists from all over the globe.

In the desert of Karakum, in Turkmenistan, there is a huge gaseous crater known as the Gate of Hell, which is presumed to have been burning, without ever stopping, since 1971.
The crater was formed following the collapse of a natural gas cave and the name Gate of Hell was given to it by the local population, who live in the nearby village of Derweze. The name is associated with the fact that inside the crater, with a diameter of about 70 meters and a depth of 20, there is constantly fire, flames and boiling mud. At night, flames are visible even several kilometers away.
According to the local population, the Gate of Hell is a supernatural phenomenon. The explorer George Kourounis managed to take some soil samples inside the crater and from the analysis would have discovered the presence of bacteria that survived despite the high temperatures and present are inside the crater and not in the surrounding terrain.
