Discovering the Blue Mountains: a natural paradise in the heart of Australia

The whole world, after two and a half years of pandemic, has a time to travel, to move around and have fun, but above all to get back in touch with nature in its wildest form. In this sense, if you are eager to immerse yourself in a place unique to the world, we recommend Australia, and specifically the Blue Mountains.

Rock formations dating back some 230 million years, the Blue Mountains are located in the state of New South Wales, and offer the perfect scenery for wonderful hikes in the wilderness.

They are only two hours inland from Sydney and, amidst stunning caves, night trails and a myriad of secluded spots, you will find yourself in a unique landscape. If you find yourself, or plan to visit the southern continent, this is a must-see.

Blue Mountains - Australia
The blue Mountains are a huge plateau at 1110 meters above sea level, which presents a natural truth comparable to very few other places in the world. A veil of very fine blue mist, caused by the essential oil particles that are constantly diffused by the eucalyptus trees, envelops the region in its entirety, giving it its almost unreal beauty. Trekking is the ideal way to explore the surreal natural landscape of Blue Mountains, whose oldest rock formations date back at least 230 million years.

Scenic Skyway - First opened in 1958, Scenic Skyway was Australia's first cable car. The current cabin, manufactured in Switzerland, opened in 2017 and can carry 84 passengers every 10 minutes. It is the largest cable car in the southern hemisphere. Suspended 270 meters above ancient gorges, incredible views of the rainforest reveal themselves beneath your feet through the electric glass cabin floor. For the less adventurous, solid seats and floors are also available.

The Three Sisters - Impossible not to take a picture of this rock formation, a symbol of the Blue Mountains National Park, which is located about 2.5 km away from the town of Katoomba. The best location to observe them is probably from the Eco Point Lookout, especially at sunset, when they take on truly magnificent colors.
