Anse Source d’Argent
Anse Source d’Argent is a beach located in the southwest of La Digue, the fourth largest inhabited island of Seychelles, east of the island of Praslin and west of Félicité. This white sandy beach is characterized by turquoise waters and impressive granite rocks.

Origin of the name and population
The population of La Digue is about 2,000 and mostly Creole in origin. French is widely spoken on the island. To be inhabited is mainly the west coast in the villages of La Passe (connected by ferry to Praslin and Mahé) and La Réunion. The island has an area of 10 km² and takes its name (La Digue) from that of a ship in the fleet of the French explorer Marc-Joseph Marion du Fresne who visited Seychelles in 1768.

Sea
The appearance of the beach changes depending on the time of day and is affected by the water level of the sea and the tides. The shallow, calm sea makes the beach suitable for both families and beachgoers snorkeling. When the tide rises, however, you can also swim; when the tide is out, the waters are really shallow.

Vegetation
The vegetation is purely tropical, with the presence of mangrove formations on the less man-made stretches of coastline. Palm trees emerging among the granite create a splendid contrast with the blue sky.

Fauna
The island is home to the Seychelles paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone corvina), a special species of endemic bird listed as endangered. On the island, in enclosures protected from the public, are some Seychelles giant tortoises (Aldabrachelys hololissa). Also typical of the island are the "fox-head" bats. Pteropus seychellensis, easily seen during the day.
