Eight Italian beaches considered among the most beautiful and cleanest
The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) awarded 16 new 'Blue Flags' to Italy last week. The international sustainability education NGO, based in Denmark and present in 81 countries, awarded 16 new 'flags' to the Italian peninsula. A total of 226 Italian municipalities and 458 beaches and 84 tourist harbours represent 11% of the world's award-winning beaches.
As the official website reports, 'Blue Flag' is a voluntary eco-label awarded to seaside resorts that comply with criteria relating to sustainable land management. The main objective of this programme is to steer the local management policy of many seaside resorts towards a process of environmental sustainability.
Italy itself can boast an incredible heritage, just look at how many awards it manages to obtain each year for the beauty and hospitality of its territory.

The northern lights are an optical phenomenon of the Earth's atmosphere, characterized by bright bands of a wide range of shapes and colors, typically red-green-blue, called auroral arcs, caused by the interaction of charged particles of solar origin with the Earth's ionosphere.
Obviously, to observe the Northern Lights - the equivalent of the Southern Lights of the southern hemisphere of the Earth - it is necessary to head as far north as possible in the northern hemisphere, better beyond the Arctic Circle.
To observe the dawn the sky must be clear and, possibly, totally cloudless. It is also necessary that there is total darkness. The best time to observe the phenomenon, however, is between the beginning of autumn and the beginning of spring (approximately from the second half of September until the beginning of April).
