The twelve most beautiful beaches in Italy according to National Geographic

Natural and scenic excellences are very famous in Italy, and even more famous are the awards from international publications. This time it is National Geographic that celebrates the beauty of the Belpaese, with a ranking of the most beautiful beaches that can be found in the Peninsula.

In first place there is the Sicilian beach of "Capo Peloro", but it is all of the South that dominates, with as many as 7 out of 12 beaches in the ranking being located in the South.

So let us enjoy this list of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, where we can admire so many natural beauties and unique places among the most appreciated and frequented in the world.

Capo Peloro (Sicily)

Maronti (Campania)
The beach at Maronti, among the busiest in Ischia (near Naples), has 3 km of coastline. Most of the is located in Barano d’Ischia, but a minimum is part of Serra Fontana. The sandy shore, bordered by two headlands, consists of coarse-grained sand mixed with gravel with a gray coloration. Also in the immediate vicinity of the beach are among the oldest hot springs on the Campanian island.

Punta Aderci (Abruzzo)
The beach is located within the Regional Nature Reserve of Punta Aderci. Together with the rocky promontory of the same name, it protects one of the most striking and spectacular stretches of the Abruzzo coastline, which alternates between wide, sandy beaches and natural cliffs with bays and coves of striking beauty. It was the first reserve to be established in Abruzzo's coastal strip (1998).
