The longest bench in the world is currently located in Milan, within the Industria Alfa Romeo park in Portello.

It is 208 meters long and runs along the pond located in the center of the park: it was made with American wood by a company in the province of Bergamo and to create it were used 1,800 wooden slats 4 meters long each but also 25,000 screws and 500 iron legs.

This is a record that not all Milanese citizens know but it is certainly a great pride for the city and for Italy. Milan has also another very long bench, about 100 meters, in the Affori area.

Vatican City, officially the Vatican City State, is a landlocked city-state on the Italian peninsula, the world's smallest sovereign state by population (869 according to a 2019 census).

The Vatican is what remains of the ancient Papal State, a portion of Italian territory over which, for centuries, the authority of the Pope reigned supreme. The real problems began with the birth of the Kingdom of Italy and the Pontiff's loss of temporal power. Today, only a tiny part of the State that once was remains.

In the desert of Karakum, in Turkmenistan, there is a huge gaseous crater known as the Gate of Hell, which is presumed to have been burning, without ever stopping, since 1971.

The crater was formed following the collapse of a natural gas cave and the name Gate of Hell was given to it by the local population, who live in the nearby village of Derweze. The name is associated with the fact that inside the crater, with a diameter of about 70 meters and a depth of 20, there is constantly fire, flames and boiling mud. At night, flames are visible even several kilometers away.

According to the local population, the Gate of Hell is a supernatural phenomenon. The explorer George Kourounis managed to take some soil samples inside the crater and from the analysis would have discovered the presence of bacteria that survived despite the high temperatures and present are inside the crater and not in the surrounding terrain.

Discovered not long ago, according to local media reports, the ice cave in Penba County, Tibet Autonomous Region, is an arch-shaped cave about 165 metres long, 26 metres wide and 15 metres high. It is currently the largest cave in Tibet.

The ice cave is accessible from both ends and reminds many visitors of a crystal palace, especially when the sunlight transforms the atmosphere inside into a dreamlike place. The central part of the cave appears rather dark, which is why visitors are advised to bring a torch.

It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The particularity of this place lies in the fact that during high tide, Mont Saint-Michel becomes an island completely surrounded by water. However, during low tide, it can be accessed on foot via a bridge.

Having also become a very important place of worship over the centuries, with its Benedictine abbey dating back to the 10th century, there are many mysteries and legends surrounding one of the most unique and evocative places in the world

Thanks to its natural, historical, cultural and gastronomic beauties, Italy is one of the most visited and appreciated countries by tourists.
